How to enter
Method 1: Complete an entry form, make payment by Direct Deposit and send the entry form and proof of payment to [email protected] INCLUDING the Section Name. The closing date for this method is Thursday 29th August 2024.
All exhibitors must sign an indemnity & waiver form & collect & wear a wristband when entering exhibits.
Biosecurity Requirements: Molong Show Society has a duty of care to protect the interests of all participants; thus, ensuring that the biosecurity risks associated with the showing of sheep are understood and managed.
All Sheep deliveries must be accompanied by: A completed NVD (National Vendor Declaration) and A National Sheep Health Statement (SHS). A completed SHS is required at entry or at the latest, upon delivery. Sheep Health Statement Forms will be provided at delivery and can be completed on arrival or are available for download online.
Please note: Breeders are invited to enter animals for judging in show competition or they may display animals and their products for exhibition only.
All Sheep must be from a Brucellosis Free Flock
1. Except where stated otherwise, all sheep entered in competitive classes must have been bred and de-pastured in the state of New South Wales by the exhibitor.
2. They must be entirely paddock run and display the exhibitor’s registered earmark & NLIS tag.
3. The judge and/or stewards may disqualify any sheep, which in their opinion, has been fed and/or trimmed, especially for exhibition, except wigging and/or crutching.
4. Basis of judging: Pens of ewes to be judged on a commercial basis as wool cutters and sound commercial breeding types; uniformity within the pen will be taken into account. Udders must be sound, i.e. two normal teats and be capable of efficiently suckling a lamb.
5. Local pen exhibits must be produced in the Molong and district area with the exhibitor’s property falling in the Molong and district postcodes.
6. Teeth: In the event of the sheep cutting teeth on Show Day, the judge or steward has the right to move these sheep to an older section for judging.
7. Entries: The steward has the right to accept or reject any entry in any competitive class without assigning any reason thereto.
8. The decision of the judge will be final.
9. Sales: No sheep, either ewes or rams, are to be sold during this show except those which have been donated to the Longreach Show Society and which may be sold by auction or private treaty for the sole benefit of the Society.
10. Entrance fees will be charged alike to members and non-members.
11. Proof of shearing date may be required.

Section C: Pen of 5 X Bred Lambs or Weaners showing no permanent teeth.
